Chemistry in War

Abstract

The divergence of political and socio-economic realities in the modern world, the distrust in the security issue between the States, has led to the unprecedented development of the military sphere. Such progress is undoubtedly due to the high level of science. At first glance, the participation of Chemistry scientists in this progress seems imperceptible and is limited only to the creation of chemical weapons and means of defense against it. However, this is not the case. Chemistry, is a science of amazing abilities. It is capable of creating substances present and non-existent in nature that have the greatest practical use. Here is one of the most important - the military sphere. According to Academician A.N. Frumkin ,,chemistry is one of the essential factors on which success in modern warfare depends...’’ The article, taking into account its format, briefly discusses the main accents that chemical science gives for solving tasks of a strategic or tactical nature in military affairs.
