Abstract

In the digital age, the spread of misinformation has become an important global problem. The rapid growth of social media and digital platforms has allowed false and misleading information to reach a wide audience within minutes. Dissemination of false information can happen unintentionally. However, disinformation is the deliberate dissemination of incorrect or misleading information to the public, often for political, social or financial purposes. Misinformation is a significant challenge of the modern world, which prevents the development and establishment of democracy in any state. It is designed with the intention of manipulating the public to deceive and sow discord. Its main purpose is to make a specific profit or spread information that will influence the formation of public opinion and change people's actions. Despite their diversity in terms of political systems, media and civil society development, countries around the world face many challenges when it comes to disinformation. This article discusses the challenges of disinformation in the digital age, its broad implications and possible solutions to prevent its harmful effects.
