Abstract

Now the world is on the threshold of the information society. The beginning of this transition was the introduction of modern means of information processing and transmission in various fields of human activity. Over centuries, mankind has mastered first matter, then energy and finally information. In the past, primitive skills and basic knowledge were sufficient for the formation of civilization, but over time the amount of information accumulated and people felt the lack of individual knowledge. In this regard, it was necessary to generalize both experience and knowledge, in particular, to work purposefully with information, to receive, transmit and process it by means of computer information technologies.
In the second half of the 20th century, the emergence of new information technologies and information systems is considered an information revolution. In terms of its informational intensity and globality, this process

has no analogues in the history of mankind.
New information technologies, features and perspectives of its development are discussed in the paper. The author’s attention is focused on the implementation of information technologies in the enterprise and business, automated information technologies of electronic document management systems and the types of their support, the appearance of automated information technologies in commercial offices.
In order to make effective management decisions in the dynamic development of the market economy, the enterprise needs an appropriate information support system that will objectively reflect the current economic situation. The topic is the most relevant today, because automated information systems for managing electronic documents are the key to the success of any organization in management activities. It will help to maintain documents, monitor the fulfillment of orders, as well as organize communication processes in the office and with the outdoor environment.
The paper considers the integration of information technologies as the possibility of data exchange between applications or as a complete restructuring of the information environment of the enterprise. The paper presents the basic concepts of information technology integration.
